About this guide

Yes - it's free!

Back in January 2012 I decided to write and publish a book in both print and ebook formats. Not so unusual you might think. What made it different is that I set a timescale for doing it - one week!

I partly achieved my goal, I wrote the book and published the ebook within the seven days. The paperback version took a little longer since it took three weeks for the proof copy to arrive in the UK from the printers in the US.
The subject? The title was 'So You've Written a Book." It described how a would be author should self- publish a manuscript. Most of the book was made up by step-by-step illustrations using screen captures. Within a few years it became out of date so I started work on a new version, the one shown in banner above called 'An Illustrated Guide to Getting Published.'

Several years later, publishing has advanced again and a new guide is needed. This time I'm making it available free on the web so that it can be updated as needed. Naturally that won't get me much in royalties so to help pay for this site you'll find some adverts. Some will be for my other books, some will be for books I've personally enjoyed, some will be for products I think worth buying because I've bought them myself.

Ignore the adverts if you wish but if you find this guide useful at least download a free ebook, that will help my rankings. I am an Amazon affiliate and many advert links will point to Amazon.

...and maybe, some day I'll produce a new printed version of this as a reference book.

If you find this guide useful...

Can you help me out?

If you find these pages useful you can return the favour by downloading a FREE ebook from Amazon - even if you don't read it, it will help our rankings! I think you'll probably like it though.

It's the first book of a series of 9 books (so far) which tell the story of how life on Earth was saved from a cataclysmic extinction when a rogue planetoid collides with Earth in 7141. This first book deals with how humanity was made immortal, giving us the incentive to do something about an event so far in the future.

Take a touch of humour, add some genetic science and nanotechnology. Steep with conspiracy and stir in murder and despair. Season with romance between three people in a secret location. Garnish with morality.

The result is 'Immortality Gene', the first in a novel series by John and Shelia Chapman. The ebook of book 1 is FREE and available at multiple retailers
