By far the largest distributor of books and ebooks in the world is Amazon. Any author self- publishing would be a fool to not use them. To do so, you'll need an Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.KDP account.
So here's where to get one https://kdp.amazon.com (I used an incogneto window to get this screenshot since I'm already a member and see a different page at that URL)
Make sure you check out the various links on that page before you click the 'Join KDP' button.
You'll get this screen. Enter your real name (not a pen name, an email address you won't lose control of and a secure password. Forget that '6 character' one, you should make it at least 12 characters and a mixture of upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers and symbols. The sort of password that's really hard to remember. Use a password program if you wish such as Lastpass. It's best if you don't use any words you find in a dictionary, names or dates of birth. Possibly you could use the serial number from the bottom of your mouse with some numbers shifted to make symbols and/or the serial number found on the keys you always carry.
YOUR PASSWORD MUST BE SECURE!
You don't want anyone to take over your Amazon account by looking at your social media pages.
Read the KDP Terms and Conditions, Conditions for Use and Privacy notice. You only need to do this once and the'rules' for using Amazon KDP are not unreasonable. If you are invited to accept cookies - do so, it will save you time when you next log in.
If you find these pages useful you can return the favour by downloading a FREE ebook from Amazon - even if you don't read it, it will help our rankings! I think you'll probably like it though.
It's the first book of a series of 9 books (so far) which tell the story of how life on Earth was saved from a cataclysmic extinction when a rogue planetoid collides with Earth in 7141. This first book deals with how humanity was made immortal, giving us the incentive to do something about an event so far in the future.
Take a touch of humour, add some genetic science and nanotechnology. Steep with conspiracy and stir in murder and despair. Season with romance between three people in a secret location. Garnish with morality.
The result is 'Immortality Gene', the first in a novel series by John and Shelia Chapman. The ebook of book 1 is FREE and available at multiple retailers
The next time you log in to Amazon KDP you'll find yourself at your bookshelf page.
Obviously you are going to use that '+ Create' button. Before you do, follow the four links under 'New to KDP.' Read through them; Amazon KDP is very helpful and these links will give you an idea of what to expect. There's a lot to read but it's worth taking the time to do so. When you are ready and have available your epub file, book cover file, keyword selection and book description then go ahead and click that 'Create' button.

Back in 1982 early text only adventure games were being written for home computers. One such game was 'Castle of Riddles' written by Peter Killworth and published by Acornsoft. Now it's been re-written and greatly expanded with added images and sound. Play it on your computer, tablet or even a phone.
